In 1927, Karl F. Lauer came to America. A German coppersmith by trade, he had work waiting for his skills.

Karl, hired at first to build beer stills during prohibition, later worked for Pullman Train Dining Car Company out of Chicago. During WWII Karl's experience was in great demand, to work in factories supporting the war effort.

After the war, in 1947, Karl Lauer Sr. founded Karl's Equipment Co. He built specialty refrigeration cases. The name Flot-Aire, pronounced "Float Air", is the name he gave for the system he designed to keep flowers.

Since then, Flot-Aire Floral Refrigerators have always catered to the Flower Shop industry and its owners. From the Mom and Pop shop owners who work weekends and every holiday, to the large franchise chain.

Whether your need is a lot of display or all storage, every job is treated as our best work.

We are a four-generation, family owned and operated business. Our credit is excellent and our reputation is outstanding. Let us work for you!
